Join us for a Sponsored Walk to Improve Healthcare in the Linda Community.
i4Life, in partnership with the Galway Salthill Rotary Club, invites sponsors and volunteers to support an impactful fundraising event aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure in the Linda Community in Lusaka, Zambia. This unique initiative challenges participants to walk in the shoes of a community health worker while raising funds for a vital solar power and water pump system at the Primary Health Centre in the Linda Compound.
With over 3,000 monthly visitors—including 400 children attending the under-five clinic—the Primary Health Centre serves as a critical healthcare hub for the Linda community. Together, we aim to raise over €30,000 to ensure reliable access to electricity and clean water, directly enhancing the quality of care available.
To highlight the dedication of community health workers, we are setting a collective goal to walk 3,000 kilometres throughout April. Participants can contribute daily to the cause and take part in the flagship event on April 21st, Easter Bank Holiday Monday, by walking a stretch of the historic Famine Way from Strokestown, Co Roscommon to Cloondara, Co. Longford, a distance of 20km.

Meeting at Strokestown house at 10:30am with the aim to begin walking at 11am. Walkers will be bused to Cloondara, allowing everyone to walk at their own pace back to Strokestown house. This ensures that everyone is walking back towards their cars and no-body gets left behind.
How to Fundraise?
While the day of the walk will be the main event, we want to encourage people to get out and walk every day across April to help us meet the target of walking 3,000km.
